Meet Becky

Becky is a Colorado native and has called El Paso County home since 2000. She and her husband, Matt, have been married for more than 27 years and have three adult sons.

Becky has built her career in small-business finance. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder, with areas of emphasis in accounting and entrepreneurship and small-business management.

For more than 30 years, Becky’s professional work has included Small Business Administration–guaranteed lending. This highly regulated work requires understanding detailed technical requirements and applying them carefully to a wide range of businesses and financial circumstances. Her responsibilities have included evaluating businesses, analyzing financial information, and reviewing appraisals.

Just as importantly, Becky has helped colleagues and borrowers understand complicated rules by explaining them clearly and providing the source documents behind the policies. Her ability to analyze technical information, apply rules consistently, and communicate the results in understandable terms will be instrumental as she leads the Assessor’s Office.

Becky also has a strong belief in public service. She has devoted thousands of volunteer hours to organizations throughout the community, with a particular focus on financial literacy and improving small businesses’ access to capital.
